Beverley's fish hook

The wrapping is spruce root, peeled and split in two. There is a special way to do the wrapping. The main point being using the root while it's still fresh from the ground if possible, so it dries back tight which helps to hold the whole thing together.

Robert Orcutt; knife

Attached are two photos of a knife that I just made from scratch. It's not overly primitive, but I didn't use any power tools. Once it was forged to about the shape I wanted, I used a file and different grits of paper to finish it. I did use epoxy as an adhesive.

The blade was forged from a piece of 5160 steel. The guard is brass and the handle is made up of rings of leather with nickel-silver and red and black spacer material capped with an antler crown.
